Advent Movement

Advent Youth Initiative

For the Youth, by the Youth... a leadership environment to develop characters like Christ.

What if we could completely reimagine what training looked like... not starting with preset methods, but starting over. What would it look like if we changed the focus from a graduation cap to a crown?

What we are aiming for
  • Closer walk with our Creator
  • Conviction on our beliefs
  • Clarity on our true purpose
  • Consistency in our lifestyle
  • Competence in our skills
  • Community and belonging
  • Courage to be a witness
  • Characters like Christ

Why the youth matter

The Work Will Be Finished by the Youth

God is not looking for spectators... He is calling a workforce. The issue is not that youth lack interest... the issue is that many have never been given room, responsibility, and a real pathway to serve.

"The Lord has appointed the youth to be His helping hand."
Testimonies for the Church (7T 64.2)
"...there is no other class that can do as much good as young men and young women who are consecrated to God. The youth, if right, could sway a mighty influence."
Testimonies for the Church (1T 511)
"...in these days, the young men and young women of the Advent Movement have been given an important part to act in the closing drama of earth's history."
Messages to Young People (MYP 7.1)

The problem

When Systems Block Sunlight, Young Plants Droop

We do not lack money and we do not lack mission talk. What we lack is a culture that treats early-stage building as legitimate work for God. Too often, youth live under the shadow of inherited systems... and potential becomes sickly instead of strong.

"They are unproductive trees that shut away the sunlight from other plants, causing them to droop and die under the chilling shadow."
The Great Controversy (GC 527.4)
"The barren tree receives the rain and the sunshine and the gardener's care... But its unproductive boughs only darken the ground, so that fruit-bearing plants cannot flourish in its shadow."
Christ's Object Lessons (COL 217.1)
"...In the shadow of so many other trees, they are becoming sickly and worthless. Transplanted, they would have room to grow strong and vigorous."
RH May 15, 1888, par. 11

The answer is transplanting... room, sunlight, and responsibility.

Statement of intent

A youth-led outpost is spiritual transplanting... room, sunlight, responsibility... so young men and women can grow strong and vigorous and bear fruit.
